My Thought of the Day

So, instead of just quoting other people – which I LOVE to do BTW (See tag cloud for "Quote of the day" of "Quote"), I decided it might be fun to start publishing "My thought of the day"… just something on my mind, simple.

Today's thought:

Learn to let go of "things". Release your attachment to them. Things are not who you are, things do not define you.

It's like the Kanye West song "All Falls Down" says:

"We buy our way out of jail, but we can't buy freedom
We'll buy a lot of clothes when we don't really need em
Things we buy to cover up what's inside"

Are you hiding behind your things? What would letting go mean to you? If you let go, would you find freedom? Could you be liberated? Could you see how things don't define who we are. Everything you need is already inside of you.

Practice releasing your connection to things. Give something away that you think of as valuable or sentimental to someone you know would appreciate it. See how that makes you feel. You may find that in the act of giving away something you thought you loved so much, you actually find more joy and love from the feeling you received by letting go and giving something to someone who needs it more than you than you would have by staying attached to that "thing".

Remember, we are all connected, we are all one; there is more than enough for everyone if we all give and share when we see others in need.

Let go. Give. Love.

Quote of the Day

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Quote of the Day

Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realize that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge."

Quote of the Day

Lay bare the bones of your feelings, expose them no matter the pain or suffering or humility involved. For only when your hurts and griefs and torments and fears have been cast away can you find your true being and see the nature of the power that flows forever thru the depths of your soul.

Quote of the Day

The creative energy of spirit uses human beings to express itself through various art forms. You are a living, breathing canvas for spirit’s light and sound, which can inspire and uplift others. Use your glorious heart to paint life with broad, sweeping brush-strokes of warm love.
